About the wine guy...
After his studies at Chicago's Kendall College for certificates as a wine apprentice and wine steward, Lorenzo Muñoz went on to become a Certified Sommelier with the Court of Master Sommeliers and a Certified Specialist of Wine/certified wine educator with the Society of Wine Educators. He has also PURSUED further studies to become an Italian, French, and spanish wine scholar with the Wine Scholar Guild. in addition he has attained master level certifications for the regions of bourgogne, Bordeaux, the rhone, the Loire, Alsace, and champagne. Finally, after attaining the Wine & Spirits Education trust (WSET) Level 3 AWArd in wines, he is now currently working towards the final level 4 diploma.
Lorenzo and his wife Christine own and run cinco Family wines; a "winery" where all sorts of varietals are proudly vinted and bottled right in their hinsdale garage!
Lorenzo and Christine, herself certified as an introductory sommelier with the court of master sommeliers, find their happy place whenever wine, food, and friends come together. Through the Hinsdale Wine Academy they seek to promote, via structured yet light hearted classes, a deeper understanding of wine's contribution to this magical triad. Through classes that combine didactic sessions and nightly wine tastings, with a strong emphasis on food pairings, they hope to spark your curiosity about the wines of the world and all the cool stuff that surrounds them.
